A young girl named Bryn has recently lost her mother. Much to her father's dismay Bryn deals with her grief by not talking anymore. Unable to leave his inconsolable daughter with family, Bryn's father takes her to work with him and leaves her in the care of a friendly thermogenic scientist whose pet project, a bonsai named Rose, may be the key to helping Bryn heal.

 Fresh out of training, it's Lawanda Jackson's first day on the job as a 911 dispatcher and she's determined to not put up with any punks or prank calls during her shift. But when a call comes in from three strangers, (a sexy bartender, a has-been actor, and a momma's boy), claiming to be trapped inside a whale, sassy Lawanda doesn't know if she should take the bait or play along to see where it goes.
 As the strangers beg and plead for rescue, all the while trying to prove their situation is truly dire, Lawanda will learn the hard way that maybe just maybe they're telling the truth.​

But with less than fours hours before the fight, if they don't figure this out quick they'll be joining Lenny in the big sleep themselves.

After killing Reina del Desierto, the woman of his dreams and bewitching wife of the local cartel boss, El Cerdo, a coked-up and heartbroken underling named Manny decides to take his destiny into his own hands with more murder.  Convinced he must kill El Cerdo to save his own hide, he tricks his boss into meeting him at their Mexican restaurant headquarters where he plans to shoot the man and hopefully leave town with his money. But before El Cerdo shows up, Manny gets an unexpected visit from the ghost of his former flame who hints that before he killed her she cursed him forever. 
 Freaked out beyond belief, Manny barely has time to get it together before El Cerdo arrives with some paranormal news of his own. Unfortunately for Manny love proves way more messy than he ever dreamed when he learns that money and murder no longer matter when you're already dead.
